Why the change?

Since the launch of LUMI, our song library has grown significantly. Today, our repertoire and learning sections have expanded, making it essential to refine how we categorize the difficulty levels. Plus, we understand that each of our users is unique so, more granularity will enable a smoother and more personalized progression.

What's new — 

1. Refined difficulty levels

We're not just talking about beginner or expert. We’ve introduced bands within each difficulty, from levels 1-4. This means more detailed gradings to match where you are in your piano journey!

2. Improved user experience 

We aim to:

– Offer a smoother progression with smaller skill jumps.

– Cater to your personal taste and skill level with songs you'll enjoy playing.

– Clearly signpost your progress to keep you motivated.

– Address your specific challenges and needs, guiding our content creation.

3. New musical content 

We've added even more simple music for you to learn across First Steps, to ensure every step of your journey is covered. There’s something for everyone with our biggest update to the LUMI app featuring a mix of pop songs, family classics, and contemporary hits – with more on the way!

4. Structure refined

Gone are the days of just 'Beginner' to 'Expert'. Now, each category has levels 1 through 4. This granularity ensures that you're always on track, with clear milestones.

5. Expert moderation 

We've gone through the process of refining our difficulty bandings, reclassifying our song library, introducing expert moderation, and republishing songs with updated data. So, get ready for a smoother, more detailed, and enriched LUMI experience!
